Free Market was the second short film that Proxemic worked on with the BOBP, Lee and Ay-Jaye, adding videographer Rebecca Jean Ward to the crew. Weise attended scouting visits that included meetings with Fayetteville’s city and cultural leaders, walking tours of the city and Market House structure, as well as rehearsal time with Ay-Jaye within the structure.
The crew will always remember the pre-dawn wake-up call to drive to Fayetteville on the day after Thanksgiving to film the piece. Racing against the clock for both logistical and artistic reasons, we completed filming and packed up by 11:30 AM. Nothing like thorough prep work coming through to make a process both efficient and effective!
